Super Smash Bros. Brawl Review
One of the greatest games recognized through the N64 and the Gamecube makes a appearance on the new Wii console. Brawl displays a new interfacing in fighting games, displaying an array of Nintendo Characters from the 1990's and so forth. You can play as Link, Zelda, Shiek, Mario, Luigi, Wario (who is extremley hilarious to play as), and even more characters than that. Their are a variety of old and new items, my personal favorite; The ligh saber, the most powerful item (in my opinon) for field battles. Another thing is that the game has a wonderful story mode that is consist of characters whome you'd think would be enemies and their are some helping hands in the game that will get you through the story mode.
Let's talk about the fighting system first. The game allows you to use both the Gamecube controller which is highly recommended for this game if you are use to the Gamecube alot, the wii-mote, and finally the classical wii controller which has the same controls as the Gamecube controller except it's a bit smaller compared to the Gamecube controller. As I remember it, you can use the wii-mote with or without the nunchuck which is good, so how do you play without the nunchuck you ask? Well, you hold it sideways after removing the nunchuck which is a great addition to the game, so in total their are 4 ways to play brawl, I haven't really seen many games with multiple controller permissions except for this one.
Brawl has some wifi compalibility which allows the player to play against people worldwide or just play against their friends, the great part is that if you aren't patient you can beat up a bean bag while waiting for a worldwide match. Matches are quite simple, each mach is about 2 minutes, you are against 3 other people in a full out brawl (it's over 9000!!!~I dunno why I did that...Moving on...). There is another wifi feature in Brawl which allows the user to bet on who will win, and if you win...you win coins! and if you don't...tough luck kid.
Super Smash Bros. Brawl has some new stages which are very well displayed, some are even remakes of old stages found in Super Smash bros. and Super Smash bros. Melee. Super Smash Bros. Brawl also has all of older stages from previous games in it's series.Another cool feature in the game is that you can collect more trophies in the game that haven't been seen in past games. Another great feature is that you can save images from the game into your wii using an SD card from a camera, you may then use the SD card to tranfer your gameplay picture to your computer which is pretty awesome in my opinion.
Now here are things that I've noticed, As you throw fireballs when using Mario, or even using attacks with other characters in an elemental form (water, fire, etc..) all your attacks seem to be in 2-D rather in the 3-D display of characters who had conducted that attack, and you'll notice this as you pause your game when conducting moves to your opponent.
Overall, I'd highly recommend this game, the game is fun for all ages and displays a variety of characters that you may be familiar with. This game is also good way to spend you time with freinds, after all..this game is for 4 players. The game has some very good features and doesn't have that many downs. A very enjoyable videogame indeed.
