Mario Sports Mix Review

Intro

Mario sports mix was first introduced to the Wii in 2010 (for Japan) and 2011 for the U.S, Australia, Europe and the UK. The game had been developed by Square Enix and is published by Nintendo.

Review

Let's start off with the gameplay; Mario Sports mix is consisted of sports games, allowing the player to use characters that are most familiar to them (Mario, Luigi, Peach, etc..). The sports included in the game are basketball, dodge ball, volleyball, and finally, hockey. The game allows players to play in tournaments which makes the game more competitive for players which is a great opportunity to play with multiple amounts of people.

The controls to the game are quite easy to comprehend especially with the Wii remote. The game displays vivid areas while playing the game which adds on to the liking of the game. Sprites of characters are made well and are clear to see. There aren't any glitchy parts that I know of, but there are also no pixely areas in the game either.

The game in my opinion is made quite well, but more games could have been added to the game such as soccer, but it makes sense that they do not do so, because of existing games like Mario Strikers which is consisted of a soccer game that players can play in as well as Wi-Fi capabilities and Mario 3 on 3 which is available for the DS handheld. The game is a sort of add-on to all the other sports game presented in Nintendo handhelds and console.

Additional note: To be honest there's not much to review about the game other than it's a semi-fun game, consisted of sports, and Nintendo characters. To be honest if it had more sports in the game it would be a far more enjoyable game than what it is now, although the game isn't really horrible, but there are a few up's and downs that follow.

Overall

  • Gameplay: 8/10
