Intro

First and only introduced to the PS3, Killzone 3 takes the stand after what was left off of Killzone 2. The game was released on the PS3 during the month of February 2011 and was developed by Guerrilla Games, and is published by Sony Computer Entertainment. The game continues off of the last game and brings in new features that are quite appealing, one of these features that appeal to fans the most is the fact that it's 3D compatible.

Story

The story starts out with two Helghast members who are guided through Stahl Arms Coporation where they are ordered execute Jason Narville, who had been captured from the Helghast. As the execution is being broadcasted, the two soldiers take off their masks, and are formally identified as Tomas Sevchenko, and Rico Velasquez. The scene is then changed, and starts the action filled campaign six month earlier.

Gameplay

Modes

Let's start off by reviewing each of the modes that the game contains. First off, Multiplayer mode; this mode contains 3 game modes that can be played online.

Guerrilla Warfare

This mode is quite simple; the faction's objective is to take out the set number of enemy troops or the most enemy troops before time runs out, this will determine the winner.

Warzone

This mode is quite special and quite lengthy. This mode features missions that alter every time you play, and here's a list of them.

-Assassination

In the mission your faction's job is to kill the targeted enemy before time runs out. If you are on the opposite team your job is to defend the player that is targeted for assassination.

-Capture and Hold

Your faction's mission is to capture areas and hold them as long as you can until time runs out.

-Body Count

This mission is similar to the game mode, "Guerrilla Warfare", in which the faction's must take out the most enemies in a set amount of time.

-Search and Retrieve

Your faction's mission here is to retrieve propaganda speakers then the enemy in a set amount of time. Or retrieve and return 3 propaganda speakers before the opposite faction does.

Operations

This is another game mode you can pick from in Multiplayer which makes your faction, either the ISA, or the Helghast in a battle to control specific objectives. One of these objectives is "Capture and Hold" which I had already explained from the Warzone game mode. The other two include;

-Search and Destroy

If you have spawned as the ISA, your mission is to plant explosive charges in specific areas, and if you have spawned as the Helghast, your mission is to stop the ISA.

-Scavenge and Retrieve

If you have spawned as the ISA your mission is to secure specific areas, and find a battery and take it to a return point. If you have spawned as the Helghast your mission is to kill the ISA battery carrier.

The multiplayer mode also allows the player to give additional skill points to their "Career", you see, as the player you are given a selection of over 5 careers, these include; Infiltrator, which has the ability to disguise and as it's secondary ability the career is also referred to as the survivalist which increases the speed of your sprinting and your overall stamina, Tactician, the career has the ability of tactics, and a secondary ability of "Recon" which marks enemy positions, Field Medic this career has the ability to revive teammates, and as a secondary ability "triage", Field Medics can regenerate their own health.

The games appearance is fantastic, every object, building, and even the smallest of plants is evenly detailed with crisp HD graphics. The other thing that excites users is the fact that its 3D compatible, meaning that if you have a 3D TV you will have to ability to play the video game in 3D. Overall, I'd highly recommend getting this game for your PS3; this is one of the games that are among the best games ever sold for the PS3.
