Pokemon Heartgold and Soulsilver review

Intro

Being a remake of Gold and Silver, Heartgold and Soulsilver has brought a new look to the game with fantastic features, and some extra's along the way.

Story

Pokemon Heartgold and Soulsilver has the same basic elements as Gold and Silver, but with some twist's and turn's throughout your journey, you start out by picking your character's (Gold and Katone) and then your name, after that you choose a starter Pokemon of your liking: Cyndaquil, Totdile, and finally, Chikorita. Throughout your journey you'll be battling your rival (whatever you named him that is), and obviously Team Rocket. Team Rocket will infest most of the games with continuous battles, your job is to exterminate Team Rocket throughout your journey (it get's quite interesting once you get to the Radio Tower).

Gameplay

The gameplay has rather improved from Gold and Silver. The best part I think is the automatical running button on the touch screen (you have the option of holding the B button if you'd like to). The battling sytem is fairly simple, you use the touch screen to battle, use items, and even run away from Pokemon that you have encountered with. The Pokethlon was a good addition to the game, with fun minigames pertaining to a Pokemon's skill, (strength, agility, etc...). Another great addition to the game was the Pokewalker, the feature allows you to carry your Pokemon in a little device and let's you Pokemon lvl up due to your phyical activities (steps). In the game your job is to defeat 8 gym leaders in the Johto region followed up by another 8 gym leaders in the Kanto region, resulting to 16 badges in total, and don't forget about the elite 4 at the end of every 8 badges you recieve in the two regions.

Graphic's and Appearance

The appearance of the game is quite amazing. I love how the cities/towns where made especially places like Ecruteak city.

Overall

The game is enjoyable, it has nice a nice appearance as a remake, and a the same story, but great features that add's a liking to the game.
