Call of Duty World at War DS Review
First introduced in 2008 for the Nintendo DS, Call of Duty World at War was available for many platforms including the Nintendo DS. Though just hearing the name and seeing the trailers doesn't exactly mean it's going to be good especially when it comes to the Nintendo DS (you can already guess that this review refers to how bad it is on this platform).
Gameplay
The game itself has two modes which includes single player and multiplayer. Single player includes a campaign mode which allows you to play as Marine Private Rook. At the beginning of this mode you are forced into training after doing so you are sent into a variety of other places in order to do battle using a variety of weapons. The multiplayer mode branches out to wireless gameplay and worldwide gameplay, but the problem with playing via Wi-Fi, is that this game contains lots of glitch areas, in which players can hide/ camp in glitch hideouts where they can defeat players easily and at the same time increase their ranking. This has been an annoyance, plus this isn't the only COD game where people have been camping, COD Black op's is currently containing Boosters which have recently decided to pop up, but luckily there is a reporting system in which you can report a player for boosting in the game.
Controls/Audio/Scenery/Graphics etc..
The controls for playing the game is quite easy, you shoot with the R button, you walk are around with the D-Pad, you tap on the screen two times to crouch, and so on. The areas and maps in the game are pixely and the game itself on the DS has pretty bad graphics to be honest. As you play the game you can see that even when you're throwing grenades and as they blow up you can see pieces of pixel-art-dirt flying in the air, which also is proof of the bad graphics. The audio, specifically when playing through the campaign version is quite ok actually and adds quite a bit of excitement to the game, but it's not epic (at all).
Overall
- Gameplay: 7/10
- Audio: 8/10
- Graphics:9/10
- Overall: 4.6/10
