Vivid graphics, realistic environments, and a strong multiplayer competitive base; this is Battlefield 3. Battlefield 3 displays a whole new set of features, as well as an enhanced multiplayer experience, new vehicles, weapons, and characters. The game has been highly praised for its outstanding achievement in overall gameplay. The game contains a campaign mode, followed by a co-op campaign mode, as well as a multiplayer mode which is considerably similar to multiplayer mode of Battlefield 2.

The basic plot for Battlefield 3 is set in 2014. Characters in the campaign include Henry Blackburn (main protagonist), Lieutenant Jennifer Hawkins, Sergeant Jonathan Miller, Dimitri Mayakovsky, and finally, Solomon (The main antagonist). The player takes on the role of a U.S Marine Sergeant by the name; Henry "Black" Blackburn. The plot takes the players into vast areas in which are plagued with war, these areas include; Paris, Tehran, New York, Sulaymaniyah, and the Dasht-e Kavir desert of Iran. The campaign is full of vivid environments, and breath taking scenes.

The co-op campaign mode of Battlefield 3 consists of only six cooperative missions; Operation Exodus, Fire from the Sky, Exfiltration, Hit And Run, Drop 'Em Like Liquid and finally, The Eleventh Hour .The main thing I dislike about the co-op campaign mode is the amount of difficulty displayed throughout missions, a challenging game is a good game, but there are times in this game where enemies pop up at different locations at speedy time intervals which will catch you off guard. The most important tip anyone can give you in this mode is non-other than, communication, If you don't communicate with your teammates too well, you won't get through most of the missions successfully. The most beneficiary factor in co-op campaign is the ability to earn weapons, which requires the player to repeatedly finish some mission in order to unlock every single weapon.

The most notable mode in Battlefield 3 is its multiplayer mode. The multiplayer mode currently has nine maps in addition to the new DLC; "Back to Karkland" which consists of an extra four maps to play in. The multiplayer mode also consist of 5 game modes which includes; Rush, Squad Rush, Squad Deathmatch, Team Deathmatch and finally, conquest. As always, the player will have to choose from total of four classes; Assault, Support, Engineer and Recon, each of these classes has their own special "perks", an example would be the assault class, which a class that uses medical kits in order to revive fallen soldiers. You may have also noticed that the Medic Class has been changed to "Support", and the Assault class now contains the ability to revive fallen teammates. In addition to those class changes, the Engineer class has been kept the same. The multiplayer mode also includes new and improved features.

Battlefield 3 Classes

The new features in the Battlefield 3 include; vehicles slowly regenerating health, the disabling of vehicles, an expansive customization system, a gameplay recording system and much, much more. The most notable of features presented in the game is the ability to unlock over 50 different kinds of weapons. Other bonuses include; Flash suppressors, DLC's, and an additional weapon if you preordered Battlefield and had received the limited edition version.

Pros

  • Vivid Graphics.
  • Gorgeous scenery.
  • Expansive amounts of customization (Class wise- Multiplayer).

Cons

  • Lagging/Disconnecting.(Beta)
  • Players usually fall through maps while walking. (Overall glitches) (Beta)
  • A short co-op campaign mode. (Actual Game)
  • You are charged for online gameplay. (Multiplayer Mode)

Overall the game is obsessive and exhilarating. I'd highly recommend picking up this game if you already haven't. There aren't that many problems to be honest, as far as I know so people have noticed a small amount of lag here and there, but overall I don't have that many problems with the game, I may have missed some problems in the game, but this is what I have seen so far.

Overall

  • Gameplay: 10/10
  • Audio: 10/10
  • Graphics:10/10
  • Story:8/10
  • Overall: 9.25/10
