Assassin's Creed: Brotherhood Review

Intro

Assassin's Creed Brotherhood being the third game in the series brings some new features and exciting new gameplay. This game was developed by Ubisoft and is available for the PS3, Xbox 360, Windows, and Mac computers. The game is displayed as a circuitous sequel of Assassin's Creed II, and proves to be one of the first in the series to include a multiplayer mode.

Gameplay

Campaign Mode

Let's start off by presenting the overall game modes that can be played throughout this game. First off is the campaign mode. Please note that this game is in a third person perspective, and the game is based in Rome. The game consists of movements that relate to Parkour or (PK) for short, this also consists of stealth moves as well as sneaking and other inaudible movements. The game is set right after AC2 where Ezio becomes leader of the assassin's order. Ezio will encounter new enemies and allies during gameplay. And basically Ezio is targeted more by the Templars while at the same time the Templars goal is to annihilate the assassins order. A new feature that I haven't mentioned yet was that in the campaign mode you are now able to use horses inside the feature, and the horse will play a major role in the overall campaign mode.

Multiplayer Mode

Now for the multiplayer mode, as I have said before this is one of the first game in the series to have a multiplayer mode which is pretty exciting. You are given a set of characters to choose from in each mode, and in some modes (excluding free-for-alls) a teammate will choose the character for their team. The game includes a leveling system and a perk system which allows the player to gain new perks and abilities that will help them better disguise themselves or attack there opponent. In total there are 8 modes to choose from, and these include; Wanted, Manhunt, Alliance, Advanced Wanted, Advanced Alliance, Chest Capture, Assassinate, and Escort. And each of them is explained below.

Wanted

In this mode you are put in a group of 6 people and the objective of this mode is that the player must assassinate a target that is given to them. This is a basic free-for-all. In the beginning you are given a target with a picture displayed at the top right corner of the screen, and you will have a “tracker” which will be available below your active character. You will be given a rumble as a notification in order to know whether or not your opponent is nearby.

Advanced Wanted

This mode is basically the same as "Wanted" except there are a lot more NPC's which tells you that it will be more difficult to assassinate the opponent.

Manhunt

Manhunt is a team based mode which allows you to be separated into two teams. The team leader decides to pick the character and after that the match starts. You are then separated into two categories, one team will include the assassin's and one team will have to run from the assassin's. the matches take 4 min each and then you switch places.

Chest Capture

This is among the other team based modes in which the players are set out to either hunt the opposite team or to be hunted. The objective for the team being hunted is to steal chests while also avoiding being hunted.

Escort

This is another team based mode in which one team must protect an NPC from getting assassinated and the other team must try to assassinate the NPC.

Alliance

In this mode you are put into three teams, and the objective is to use teamwork in order to assassinate another team.

Advanced Alliance

This is a counter-part of "Alliance" in which you are given the same objective but it harder to assassinate your targets.

Appearance

The game displays a lot of great visuals as well as having nice graphics. The game shows some signs of cell-shading on some buildings while loading, but that shouldn’t bother users much.

Overall the game actually pulled off some great new features which have impressed me as well as other fans around the world. What really made me excited for was the multiplayer feature. I'd definitely recommend getting this game or at lease renting it just to try it out.
